Purpose of Workshop
The purpose of the workshop is to introduce the field of industrial mathematics for upper level undergraduate and graduate students.
To this end, the program is designed to
- introduce a brief history of mathematics-in-industry
- present typical case studies on industrial mathematics
- perform group works on smaller set of problems
- highlight research topics.
At the end of the program, the participants will
- gain a view of what industrial mathematics is all about
- learn about what mathematical and other tools are needed to pursue research in the field
- have some ideas about the current research topics in the field
